The exhibition will take place from 8th to 11th September.
The reappearance of these contemporary Portuguese artists to the London art scene aims to examine the relationship between the artists and their different ways of expression. The understanding and appreciation of their surroundings combined with their manipulation of colour provide each of them with an individual style and a unique view of the world we live in.
The importance of this is shown in a mantra adopted by these Portuguese artists, the famous words of Pablo Picasso "Art is a lie which brings us nearer to the truth". The mergence of these artists with their various modes of expression relates to art's role within human questioning; to constantly challenge and re-address our concepts which results in one final truth towards which we always strive; an understanding of life and of happiness.
Fortunately, whilst on this path towards the dawn of realisation, they have provided us with some bloody good paintings to look at. So, if our brains are a little drained by the exasperation of the meaning of life, or perhaps a little exasperated by the draining of wine glasses, we can still appreciate the skill and beauty of these paintings.
